76 of #100daychallenge: comedy
This year, I have been appreciating and enjoying the brilliance of comedians and comedy. Here’s some of the stuff I’ve been watching/listening to recently:
Comedy is all encompassing. A really good comedian can break you all the way down to your weakest points, meet you there and build you back up. Most of all, a really good comedian will make you feel and think about what you feel and think in real life. Comedy gives me the time and space to understand how the way I feel and think affects my experience, the experience of others and the conflicts that I am aware of, fight for and avoid.
Comedy is truth, accountability, philosophy, education, inspiring, entertaining, political, historical, spiritual, cultural and healing. Comedy is life.
The way that comedians think and write is fascinating to me. I would love to learn more about comedy, not with the hope of being funnier, but to learn to be a better writer and to be more engaging in conversation.
I am grateful for our comedians and their voices at this time. I think they are some of our best leaders, activists and artists.
